Philosophy

At St. Peter's Home, we believe...

Children are unique individuals in the process of growing into the adults they will become. They learn from everything that goes on around them, the people they meet, the materials and the classroom environment, and the curriculum.

Parents are and always will be the most important figures in the lives of their children. Parents need child care that respects their primary position as a parent.

The professionals who work with our children must be mature, loving, nurturing, and concerned for the well being of each child. They should be knowledgeable in child development and be able to work with each child, as an individual, allowing the child to develop to their full potential. They should be concerned with their own personal and professional growth.

Curriculums should be designed with an understanding of where the children are at emotionally and cognitively at the beginning of the year, and where the children need to grow.
