Kindergarten

St. Peter's Home offers two Kindergarten classrooms each accommodating 30 children. We provide a full-day program. The curriculum includes math, language, science, art and social studies as well as physical activities and social interaction.

Morning and afternoon snacks are provided as well as a hot lunch. Our active morning and afternoon periods are balanced by a midday rest session.

Our goal at St. Peter's Kindergarten is to make your child's first learning experience positive, fun and fulfilling. Our students leave us well prepared for future educational endeavors.

Kindergarten is a time where introduction to academics begins. St. Peter's Home realizes that all children advance at different paces and introduction to a subject matter does not ensure proficiency. Therefore, many areas of math, language, and social studies are introduced with the understanding that some children may be able to leave with a full understanding, while others will master in when in 1st grade. Introduction to new material is paced at each child's individual level. Report cards are issued twice a year and parent conferences are scheduled as needed throughout the year.

Parents are encouraged to give presentations or read to the class on a monthly basis.
